DELUGE - PAINTING
Painting in the prophetic style, I started this piece loosely, focusing on colour and movement of the brush over the canvas. These two elements resulted in the waves you see. The translucent quality of the paint allowed for the effect of the waters deluging the green earth. DELUGE really is the word that came to mind as I “saw” what was forming and I was reminded of the flood in the time of Noah. Grateful for the finished work of Jesus on the cross that satisfied God’s wrath. Reminded that there is a final end to the corruption of this world. Rejoicing that there will be new heavens and a new earth and that the redeemed will live in the New Jersusalem with God forever.
2 Peter 3:5-7 (NIV)
5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.
