This painting represents the church at the end of the age…a community of worshippers, worshiping the King in spirit and in truth. Keeping their lamps “full” of oil in eager anticipation for the coming of the Bridegroom.
I took it outside to photograph it early in the morning in the place where I meet with God. The sun shone on it in such a way that it added the extra glow to the right of the oil lamp, and enhanced the lighting over all. I loved the effect so much, that I chose to use this picture, seeing it as a “God kiss.” Matthew 25.
