Summary
South Pacific 3 is a luminous metal print by Anne Reid Artist, shaped by deep blue water, dark volcanic island forms, and a horizon alive with orange, gold, crimson, and violet light. In this Satin MetalPrint presentation, the saturated color and atmospheric glow come forward with clarity, depth, and a sleek contemporary presence.
Artwork Statement
I painted this work in the studio during a time of prayer for a dear friend, teacher, and mentor who had been unable to be on her feet for several months. I began in a loose abstract way, following the colors and movement of the brush across the surface, and what emerged became a visual expression of prayer, faith, and hope.
For me, this painting carries the sense that the best days are not behind us. It speaks of renewed strength, rising again, and the goodness and faithfulness of God. Even with its island forms and open water, the real subject is not geography alone, but peace, endurance, and the promise of fresh glory ahead.
Color & Mood
- Deep blue and turquoise water create a restful lower field.
- Dark volcanic silhouettes add strength, stillness, and quiet drama.
- Orange, crimson, gold, and violet light bring warmth and expectancy to the horizon.
- The overall mood is peaceful, atmospheric, hopeful, and quietly majestic.
Design Notes
- Vertical 3:4 composition with strong horizon movement and spacious water below.
- Dark island forms anchor the image while the radiant sky opens the piece emotionally.
- The clean composition reads well from a distance, especially in larger metal sizes.
- Metal enhances the saturated blues and warm horizon glow, giving the image a polished, contemporary presence.
Where It Works
- Bedrooms, quiet sitting rooms, and prayer spaces where rest and hope matter.
- Spa-inspired interiors, wellness rooms, and bathrooms that benefit from calm color and moisture-suitable materials.
- Hallways, entryways, and retreat settings where a vertical statement piece can create atmosphere without visual clutter.
- Media rooms, listening rooms, and modern interiors where luminous metal color and a sleek finish are especially effective.
- Office and collector spaces where personal story, travel memory, and contemporary color can live together.
Original Painting Provenance
The original painting, South Pacific 3, was gifted to Howard Gladstone and now hangs in the Torus Power office. Because he had spent time in the South Pacific, the image connected with his own memories of that region. In return, he gave me a photograph of islands from that sea — a small art swap that made the piece even more meaningful to me.

Bathroom Suitability
Metal is one of the strongest choices for humid bathrooms, powder rooms, and spa-style spaces. The crosslinked, non-porous surface is easy to clean and resists odors, contaminants, and environmental wear, making South Pacific 3 especially well suited to moisture-rich interiors where luminous color and durability both matter.

Notes from the Studio
South Pacific 3 holds a personal sense of prayer, renewed strength, and hope. I especially like this image on metal because the deep blues, dark island forms, and radiant horizon become clear, saturated, and quietly powerful without losing the stillness of the original painting.
