150-word bio:
Anne Reid Artist is a prophetic artist and abstract expressionist colorist based in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. She works in acrylic, starting each piece in abstraction—building motion, atmosphere, and layered color until symbolic imagery emerges. Her work explores themes of hope, presence, protection, renewal, and spiritual atmosphere through contemporary visual language rather than direct illustration. Originals and fine art prints are collected internationally, with select works also offered as modern metal prints suited to refined interiors and listening rooms. Anne holds faith and craft together: the Christian source of the work remains clear, while the visual language stays contemporary, luminous, and design-aware. RAW Toronto Interview with Anne Reid Artist

Host (DK the Artist): Welcome back, we’re talking with another artist at RAW Artists Canada in Toronto. Who are you?

Anne Reid Artist: I am Anne Reid Artist.

Host: Love your energy!

Anne: I’m excited to be here. This is a fantastic show and every artist in Toronto needs to be part of it. The vibe is amazing — and this is just the artists before the audience even arrives. There’s such a good mix of ages and great conversations happening.

Host: Now, talk to me about this — Toronto on Fire.

Anne: It’s actually called Toronto the Good. I’m an abstract inspirational artist working in acrylics. I start every painting in abstraction until the imagery reveals itself. With this one, the skyline of Toronto emerged.

The story came later, when I exhibited the piece in a corporate art show in Don Mills. A young woman kept coming in daily to see it. Her sister had been murdered; she had been raped, abused, struggled with addiction, and she couldn’t imagine anything “good” about Toronto. Yet this painting became a turning point for her.

I gave her the original as a gift. She later wrote a book. So the painting was a gift to her, and her story became a gift to me. That’s what my art is about — encouraging people and connecting with them through messages of hope.

Host: That’s amazing. How can people follow you or purchase your work?

Anne: You can find me on Instagram at @annereidartist or visit my website annereidartist.com.

Host: Thank you for sharing your story.
