Summary
Cleft 2 is a ChromaLuxe metal print by Anne Reid Artist based on the 2018 original painting Cleft. Its refined yellow field, dark vertical forms, and concentrated glow give the image exceptional radiance on metal, making it especially strong for listening rooms, media spaces, and contemporary interiors where color, clarity, and atmosphere need to work together without visual clutter.
Artwork Statement
I think of Cleft 2 as a work of opening, separation, and passage. The central forms feel architectural and threshold-like, but what matters just as much is the light they hold. In this print state, the image became cleaner, more luminous, and more concentrated, allowing the glow to carry more fully without the eye wandering restlessly around the surface.
Color & Mood
- Bright yellow field with orange heat, dark vertical structure, and touches of green
- Threshold light, opening, concentration, and radiance
- Bold and emotionally vivid, yet visually restful rather than busy
Design Notes
- The vertical divisions create a strong architectural rhythm and a clear central focal zone.
- The simplified field allows the luminous color to do more of the emotional work without clutter.
- Metal suits this image especially well because it keeps the light crisp, the color saturated, and the overall presentation clean.
Where It Works
- Listening rooms where controlled light helps the color and inner glow read with clarity
- Media rooms and studios where the image can contribute atmosphere without visual noise
- Modern interiors, feature walls, and transitional spaces that benefit from stronger color and calm architectural structure
Pairing Ideas
- Fourth Man, metal print — for a stronger furnace-fire companion with circular radiance and spiritual intensity
- Presence, metal print — for a quieter reflective counterpart in concentrated light and contemplative atmosphere
- Deluge, metal print — for a cooler kinetic balance in movement, light, and immersive wall presence

Integrity Notes
This metal print is based on the 2018 original painting Cleft, acrylic on canvas, 16 × 9 in. For the 2024 print state, the original image was materially refined for metal presentation: the background was digitally smoothed to remove visible texture from the gold field, and the gold tone was shifted into the brighter yellow seen here. This is therefore a materially altered later print state created for metal presentation, not a straight reproduction of the original painting.

Notes from the Studio
Cleft 2 was one of the works that helped me recognize what metal could do. Seeing this image translated into a more luminous, clarified metal state opened up a new way of thinking for me about color, radiance, and visual rest. It became one of the sparks behind the Metal Wall Art / Audiophile Collection: not simply brighter images, but cleaner, more emotionally resonant images that hold power without visual clutter and allow the eye to rest inside the experience of the work.
