Summary
Angel Armies is a landscape open-edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist, prepared from the 2016 original acrylic on canvas painting of the same name. A luminous procession of angelic forms advances in gold, teal, and ultramarine — wings, radiance, and vertical drifts of light creating a sense of guardianship, strength, and protective covering. The work suits living rooms, bedrooms, hospitality spaces, prayer rooms, and any interior that calls for warmth, depth, and quiet spiritual presence.
Artwork Statement
I painted Angel Armies after returning from a gathering in Michigan where I heard Tim Sheets teach on angel armies, the activity of heaven, and the partnership between the prayers and decrees of the saints and the angelic administration of God's purposes. I began the painting in my usual way — choosing the canvas and colors and painting abstractly, watching to see what would emerge. What came forth was unmistakably shaped by the revelation I had just received.
Created in the atmosphere of a Wednesday night house-of-prayer worship set, this painting reflects the unseen movement of heaven as worship, prayer, declarations, and Scripture-rooted decrees rise from the earth. The luminous vertical forms suggest angelic presence, heavenly rank, and divine assignment under the leadership of Lord Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts. The work carries the conviction that the gathered prayers of the saints are not passive — they participate in the administration of the Kingdom of God.
Variation & Edition Notes
Angel Armies is an open-edition fine art print prepared from my 2016 original acrylic on canvas painting, 24×18 in. This is a 2025 print edition. The original was gifted by the artist to the worship leader of the house of prayer at that time — a fitting home, because the painting had emerged in exactly that atmosphere of gathered worship and prayer.
Color & Mood
- Radiant gold dominates the upper field — carrying light, glory, and warmth.
- Teal and ultramarine form the mid-register — spacious, deep, and alive with movement.
- Warm ivory and white define the wing forms — luminous and softly present.
- An earth-bronze base grounds the composition with quiet weight.
- The overall mood is protective, uplifting, and serene — strong at distance, meditative up close.
Design Notes
- A procession of angelic forms reads as a protective wall of light from across a room.
- Layered vertical drifts create continuous downward movement — blessing, descent, covering.
- The palette works naturally with warm neutrals, mocha, earth tones, linen, brass, and deep teal.
- Strong in both unframed canvas and framed paper presentations.
- Featured in the BOHO Collection and the Curated Fine Art Collection.

Print Options & Materials
- Paper for layered tonality and a classic fine art presentation behind glass.
- Canvas for painterly depth and gallery-style wall presence.
- Metal for luminous sheen, crisp detail, and humidity resistance.
- Acrylic for crisp clarity and a modern, polished edge.
Bathroom Suitability
For humid bathrooms and spa-style spaces, Metal or Acrylic are the strongest choices. Framed paper works well in dry, ventilated bathrooms with glazing.

Notes from the Studio
I painted Angel Armies not long after returning from a gathering in Michigan where Tim Sheets taught on angel armies and the partnership between the prayers of the saints and the activity of heaven. Soon after, I was in a regular Wednesday night house-of-prayer worship set. I began the painting the way I usually do — choosing the canvas and colors and painting abstractly, watching to see what would emerge. What came forth felt unmistakably shaped by what I had just received. The imagery that surfaced was deeply connected to the spiritual atmosphere: heavenly hosts, angelic assignment, the Lord of Hosts, and the mystery of heaven responding to gathered prayer and worship.
The original was later gifted to the worship leader of that house of prayer — the right home for a painting that had come out of exactly that atmosphere.
