Artwork Statement

I created this edition to hold the moment of blessing with greater clarity and stillness. The two figures remain close and quiet: one gives, one receives, and the space between them carries the sense of anointing, calling, and trust. The lighter blue atmosphere opens the composition, while the warmer arc above them suggests oil, light, honor, and the unseen weight of being set apart.

The image draws from 1 Samuel 16 — the anointing of David by Samuel — where the outer appearance yields to what God sees, and calling is conferred not through ceremony but through quiet obedience and oil poured out. That same quality of hidden transfer, of one generation blessing another, is what I wanted this edition to carry.

No third-party imagery is used. The original painting was a gift of the artist, circa 2017.
