Summary
Dream 2, print is an open edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist, drawn from a cropped vertical section of the 2017 original painting Dream. A tall luminous composition in deep blue, aqua, and vivid scattered color, it centers on the tree of life emerging from a season of deferred hope into open light — with the imagery of longing fulfilled and life flowing outward. Scripture anchor: Proverbs 13:12. Available on paper, canvas, metal, and acrylic from 16×24 to 40×60 in.
Artwork Statement
The original Dream came to me in October 2017 — out of a season of watching and waiting, when the question of what lies beneath the surface was very present to me. The image that arrived was a tree of life rising from a deep ground of blue, rooted in something that looked at once like a sleeping form, a hillside, and a womb. Colorful points of light scatter outward from the trunk — life dispersing, life in motion, the way a dream releases things into the world that the waking mind had been holding too tightly.
The dark blue in the original painting was always the covering — the bedcovering, the nighttime, the hidden place where things grow before they emerge. The lighter blue was the dream state itself: open, spacious, not yet fixed. The tree of life stands between those two registers, drawing from both.
The scripture that sits at the center of this image is Proverbs 13:12:
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."
— Proverbs 13:12, NIV
That is the movement the painting holds: the dark ground is the deferral — the waiting, the dormancy, the long season of not yet. The tree of life rising into the open blue is the fulfillment breaking through. The scattered color points are what gets released when the longing finally arrives. Kislev 24 and Haggai 2:19 remain a resonant companion word for this image — from this day on I will bless you — but Proverbs 13:12 names what is actually painted here.
Color & Mood
- Dominant colour: deep ultramarine and cobalt blue — the ground, the covering, the night field
- Secondary colour: luminous aqua and cerulean — the dream state, the open field above
- Accent colours: scattered points of yellow, green, red, and orange — life in motion, longing fulfilled, blessing dispersing outward
- Ground tones: warm brown and dusty rose at the base — earth, root, the place things come from
- Mood: emergence, expectancy, quiet breakthrough, the threshold between dormancy and fulfilled longing
Design Notes
- Tall vertical format — the crop isolates the central tree-of-life form from the wider horizontal original, giving the image a strong columnar presence
- The composition rises from dark ground at the base to open luminous blue in the upper field — natural upward movement in the room
- Multi-color accent dots prevent the palette from reading as monotone; they animate the surface without fragmenting the overall calm
- Works as a single strong vertical statement, or as an anchor in a multi-piece arrangement with other blue-palette works
- At larger sizes (36×54 and above), the painting's texture and depth become fully visible
Where It Works
- Bedroom: the dream-state imagery and blue palette make this a natural above-the-bed choice; restful but alive
- Prayer corner or study: the Proverbs 13:12 anchor and emergence symbolism support spaces of reflection and expectant waiting
- Living room or hallway: the strong vertical movement and color accent carry well in transitional spaces
- Nursery or child's room: the tree of life imagery and scattered color points read with warmth and life at smaller sizes
- Hospitality or wellness space: the combination of deep blue and vivid accent works in interiors that want energy without visual aggression
Pairing Ideas
- Deluge, print — shares the blue-dominant outpouring atmosphere; a natural companion in the same water-and-blessing language
- Jerusalem 3, print — Kislev 24 and the Jerusalem connection place these two in the same prophetic and seasonal register

Print Options & Materials
- Paper: archival matte finish; best for dry rooms with custom framing; the blue palette reads softly and warmly
- Canvas: painterly surface texture brings warmth to the blue field and depth to the accent colors
- Metal (ChromaLuxe): intensifies the blues and makes the scattered color points vivid and crisp; wipe-clean and moisture-safe
- Acrylic facemount: glass-like depth and luminosity; the most immersive rendering of the blue ground and tree form
Bathroom Suitability
Dream 2 is marked bathroom-suitable on metal and acrylic — both are moisture-safe and require no special care. Paper and canvas are best reserved for dry, well-ventilated spaces. For a powder room or spa niche, the blue palette reads beautifully at smaller sizes in metal.

Integrity Notes
Dream 2, print is a cropped vertical print state drawn from the 2017 original painting Dream, acrylic on canvas, 16×20 in. The print isolates the central tree-of-life composition from the wider horizontal original, creating a distinct tall vertical format. The source is Anne Reid Artist's own human-painted canvas. No AI tools, stock imagery, or compositing were used in the creation of the source painting.

Notes from the Studio
A fellow artist who saw the original painting said it looked like a whale — and once you see that, you do see it. But what I was painting was the tree of life: rooted in the ground of the deep, rising into the open field of the dream state, scattering life as it goes. Proverbs 13:12 is the word that names it most clearly: a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. The Kislev 24 word from Haggai sits alongside it — from this day on I will bless you — as a companion promise. Both feel true to what this painting holds.
