Open Edition Fine Art Print — Artist-Directed Print-State Edition
I created Egypt 2, print as a luminous night scene from my original painting Egypt: gold pyramids rising through deep indigo and blue-violet atmosphere, with a pale moon overhead and a sense of memory, journey, and sacred distance held inside the image.
Available sizes: 8 × 10 in; 16 × 20 in; 24 × 30 in; 32 × 40 in; 40 × 50 in; 48 × 60 in. Available on paper, metal, canvas, and acrylic. The 48 × 60 in size is available on metal only.
Original artwork:Egypt, acrylic on canvas, 16 × 20 in; sold via Saatchi Art and now in a private collection.
Egypt 2, print is an open-edition fine art print based on Anne Reid Artist's original acrylic painting Egypt. Golden pyramids rise beneath a pale moon in deep blue-violet atmosphere, carrying a sense of antiquity, mystery, sacred distance, and luminous passage. This print works well as a warm, contemplative statement piece for living rooms, bedrooms, studies, hospitality suites, and lobby spaces.
Artwork Statement
Golden pyramids emerge from a sapphire night while a pale moon breathes light across the desert. I painted the original Egypt as a meditation on places we pass through that still shine with meaning. In Egypt 2, print, the glow, depth, and layered texture of the original are preserved so the image reads quietly from across a room and rewards closer looking up close.
The scripture thread behind this work draws from Isaiah 19, where Egypt is named among the nations that will one day know and be known by God — a vision of redemption reaching even the most ancient and distant places.
Variation & Edition Notes
Egypt 2, print is an artist-directed print-state edition of the original painting Egypt. The composition and subject matter are preserved faithfully from the original canvas. The colour palette has been adjusted for the print medium — the atmosphere is deeper and more chromatic, the pyramid forms are more luminous, and the foreground carries a richer blue-violet — bringing the image into alignment with spaces where stronger colour presence is desired. These are intentional print-state decisions made by the artist. The original acrylic on canvas is in a private collection.
Color & Mood
Palette: deep indigo, blue-violet, gold, amber, moon-white, and soft mauve. Mood: contemplative, mysterious, luminous, and quietly monumental. The pale pyramid forms hold warmth against the dark blue field, giving the image its sense of sacred distance and visual depth.
Design Notes
The 4:5 vertical aspect gives the work enough height for statement placement without feeling narrow. The gold and blue palette pairs well with cream upholstery, brass accents, warm woods, navy, mocha, and soft neutral interiors. The subject matter is architectural and symbolic rather than literal travel imagery, making it suitable for refined residential, gallery, and hospitality settings.
Where It Works
Living rooms, entries, corridors, and studies benefit from this print's luminous focal quality. Bedrooms and boutique-hotel suites where a quiet, atmospheric image is preferred are natural placements. The palette also works well in hospitality lobbies and refined commercial interiors using blue, brass, cream, mocha, or warm neutral schemes.
