Summary
Jehovah Nissi is an open-edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist, prepared from the original 2018 painting. Built around a square format and a radiant field of red, orange, and gold, the piece carries a strong sense of shelter, lifted prayer, spiritual courage, and banner-like movement. It is a vivid, faith-rooted abstract work for interiors that welcome warmth, conviction, and contemplative strength.
Artwork Statement
I painted this as a small studio color study, and as it developed I began to sense the image of a woman and what felt like a banner over her. The painting became deeply personal to me as a picture of shelter, protection, and assured love. It also carries something of the tent of meeting for me: a hidden place of prayer, comfort, and communion with God.
Color & Mood
- Fiery reds, oranges, and golds create warmth, boldness, and spiritual intensity.
- The atmosphere feels protective rather than harsh: strong, covering, and alive.
- The square format gives the work a gathered, centered presence that suits intimate and focal placements alike.
Design Notes
- Ideal for interiors that need warmth, conviction, and a strong focal piece without losing softness.
- Works especially well with layered textiles, natural wood, matte black accents, warm neutrals, and rustic or boho styling.
- The square format is easy to place above seating, consoles, small fireplaces, desks, and reading corners.
Where It Works
- Reading nooks and prayer corners
- Cabins and cozy retreat spaces
- Boho living rooms and layered seating areas
- Studios, offices, and creative workspaces
- Feature walls that need warmth and spiritual presence
Pairing Ideas
- Dove — for a calmer companion piece that brings breath, light, and visual rest alongside the stronger movement of Jehovah Nissi.
- Covered by Glory — for a richer gold-forward pairing that extends the sense of radiant covering and atmosphere.
- Advent 7 — for a stronger dialogue between warmth and contemplative depth.
- Light & Momentary — for a lighter, more spacious pairing that keeps the room lifted and luminous.

Notes from the Studio
This painting began as a small color study, but as I worked I sensed both a figure and a bannered place of shelter. For me it carries the tenderness of a hidden place with God as much as the language of victory. That tension between strength and covering is why I still love it.
