Summary
Serenity 10 is an open edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist, drawn from the contemplative shoreline of Lake Ontario in Oakville. Square in format and restful in tone, it brings the stillness of open water into any interior. Available on paper, canvas, metal, and acrylic in sizes from 12×12 to 48×48 in.
Artwork Statement
I come back to the lake often — the shoreline near Oakville has been a place of pondering for me over many years. The light on the water, the sense of boundless quiet, the way the horizon stretches without demanding anything — that quality of stillness is what I was after with the original Serenity paintings. Serenity 10 carries that same spirit: not dramatic, not urgent, simply present. It is the kind of work that asks nothing of the room it enters except a little space to breathe.
Color & Mood
- Dominant palette: deep to mid ultramarine blue, with a luminous aqua horizon band and a faint blush at the waterline
- Atmosphere: still, open, contemplative — lake light rather than ocean drama
- Finish quality: luminous depth on metal and acrylic; warm texture on canvas; clean and calm on paper
- Mood: restorative, unhurried, quietly immersive
Design Notes
- Square format (1:1) — symmetrical and grounding; reads as complete at any scale
- Works as a single statement or paired with Serenity 11, print as a diptych arrangement
- No figures, no text, no symbolic complexity — pure atmosphere and color field
- Scales confidently from a bedside 12×12 to a living-room statement at 48×48
Where It Works
- Living room: strong single focal point over a sofa or console; pairs naturally with neutral or nature-inspired furnishings
- Bedroom: restful and non-stimulating; ideal above a headboard or on a wall you face while waking
- Home office or reading room: the lake-shore quality supports focus and reduces visual noise
- Spa, wellness, or meditation space: the original paintings were created for and placed in a spa setting; the work is well-suited to any space designed for rest and renewal
- Hotel, clinic, or hospitality interior: calm, universally legible, and professionally appropriate
- Outdoor or covered entertaining space: on metal, the palette reads brilliantly in bright natural light

Pairing Ideas
- Serenity 11, print — the natural companion piece; same series, same shoreline, same square format. Hang the two side by side for a diptych arrangement, or place them in separate rooms of a connected interior.

Print Options & Materials
- Paper: archival fine art paper with a smooth, gallery-quality finish; best suited to dry rooms with framing
- Canvas: warm texture that softens the palette; brings a studio-original quality to larger sizes
- Metal (ChromaLuxe): high-gloss surface intensifies the blue palette and adds luminosity; wipe-clean and moisture-safe
- Acrylic facemount: glass-like clarity with brilliant depth; the most immersive option for this color field
Bathroom Suitability
Serenity 10 is marked bathroom-suitable. For humid bathrooms, choose metal or acrylic — both are moisture-safe and require no special care. For a dry powder room, a glazed paper print in a sealed frame works well at smaller sizes. Canvas is best reserved for dry spaces.

Integrity Notes
The original Serenity 1 painting (2019, acrylic on canvas, 40×40 in) was created for a designer client and placed in a spa in Oakville. The original is no longer with the artist — its current whereabouts are unknown. This print edition is produced from the original artwork image. No AI tools, stock imagery, or compositing were used in the creation of the source painting.

Notes from the Studio
The Serenity series grew directly out of time spent at the lake — the specific quality of stillness that Lake Ontario carries on calm days, where the water and sky become almost indistinguishable. These were paintings made for a space intended to help people slow down, and that intention is still present in the prints.
