Summary
Serenity 11 is an open edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist, part of the contemplative Serenity series inspired by the shoreline of Lake Ontario in Oakville. Square in format, soft in palette, and genuinely restful in presence, it suits any room where calm is the design intention. Available on paper, canvas, metal, and acrylic from 12×12 to 48×48 in.
Artwork Statement
The lake has been a constant for me — a place to think, to listen, to let the noise fall away. The original Serenity 2 painting came out of that regular practice of going down to the water and staying there long enough for something to settle. Serenity 11 is the print edition of that work: the same open light, the same quality of stillness, translated into a format that can live in your space and offer some of what the shoreline offers me.
Color & Mood
- Dominant palette: deep ultramarine and mid-blue, with subtle tonal shifts across the field
- Atmosphere: open water light — spacious without being cold, still without being empty
- Finish quality: luminous on metal and acrylic; warm and textured on canvas; clean and serene on paper
- Mood: contemplative, restorative, unhurried
Design Notes
- Square format (1:1) — grounding and complete at any size; no dominant directional pull
- Natural companion to Serenity 10, print; the two work as a diptych or as separate placements in a connected interior
- Purely atmospheric — no figures, no text, no visual complexity to manage
- Reads equally well as a quiet accent at 12×12 and as a room-defining statement at 48×48
Where It Works
- Living room: a calming focal point over a sofa, sideboard, or low console
- Bedroom: restful and low-stimulus; ideal above a headboard or on the wall you see first in the morning
- Spa, wellness, or therapeutic space: the original paintings were made for a spa setting and the work carries that intentionality; naturally at home in any space designed for recovery or rest
- Home office or reading room: the open-water quality quiets visual noise and supports sustained attention
- Entryway or hallway: the square format and restful palette make a strong transitional statement

Serenity 10 and Serenity 11, metal prints — shown as a diptych in an outdoor setting.
Pairing Ideas
- Serenity 10, print — the companion piece from the same series; same square format, same Lake Ontario inspiration. Works as a diptych or as a coordinated placement across two spaces.
Print Options & Materials
- Paper: archival fine art paper with a gallery-quality finish; suited to dry rooms, framed or unframed
- Canvas: soft texture brings warmth to the blue palette; especially effective at larger sizes
- Metal (ChromaLuxe): intensifies the blue and adds luminosity; moisture-safe and wipe-clean
- Acrylic facemount: glass-like depth and clarity; the most immersive presentation of this color field
Bathroom Suitability
Serenity 11 is marked bathroom-suitable. For humid bathrooms, choose metal or acrylic — both are moisture-safe. For a dry powder room, a glazed paper print in a sealed frame works well at smaller sizes. Canvas is best kept in dry spaces.

Integrity Notes
The original Serenity 2 painting (2019, acrylic on canvas, 40×40 in) was created for a designer client and placed in a spa in Oakville. The original is no longer with the artist — its current whereabouts are unknown. This print edition is produced from the original artwork image. No AI tools, stock imagery, or compositing were used in the creation of the source painting.

Notes from the Studio
Going to the lake has been part of how I work for a long time. There is a particular quality the water has on still days — the horizon becomes uncertain, the light spreads evenly, and you stop tracking time. The Serenity paintings came out of that experience. I made them for a space where people were meant to slow down, and I think that purpose still comes through.
