Summary
The Breaker 9, print is an open-edition detail-crop fine art print by Anne Reid Artist — a focused 3:4 vertical drawn from The Breaker Remix. Concentrated gold and white breaker-light moves through a vivid field of aqua, teal, and ultramarine — vertical, luminous, and quietly powerful. The image carries the atmosphere of advance and breakthrough without noise or drama.
Artwork Statement
The Breaker family of works draws from Micah 2:13 — the Messiah going before, breaking open the way, so that His people pass through the gate and go out, their King before them at their head. That image is not loud. It is purposeful. A movement forward, a way cleared, a passage opened.
The Breaker 9 isolates the gold-light passage from the larger Breaker Remix composition — the concentrated vertical where the breaker-light strikes move through the aqua and teal field. Without horizon cues, the viewer stays inside the light itself. The deep cobalt lower register grounds the work. The luminous gold upper passage opens it. What remains is the essence of the Breaker image: something moving through, something opening ahead.
"The breaker [the Messiah, who opens the way] shall go up before them. They will break out, pass through the gate and go out; So their King goes on before them, the Lord at their head."
Micah 2:13, AMP
Variation & Edition Notes
The Breaker 9 is an artist-directed detail-crop edition drawn from The Breaker Remix (2017, acrylic on canvas, 18×24 in). The crop concentrates the luminous gold breaker-light and blue-green teal field — the warm-light passage of the larger composition. This distinguishes it from The Breaker 8, print, which isolates the violet-magenta ascending-figures passage of the same source painting. Light tonal adjustments and dust cleanup were applied for print fidelity. No compositing; no AI-generated content.
For the violet-magenta crop from the same source painting, see The Breaker 8, print. For the original seascape state of the source canvas, see The Breaker, print.
Color & Mood
- Dominant colors: vivid aqua, teal, and ultramarine — the surrounding field
- Focal colors: gold and white breaker-light strikes — diagonal movement through the upper register
- Lower register: deep cobalt and blue-violet — grounding the composition
- Mood: electric and luminous at the top; calm and deep below — a sense of something moving through still water
- Spiritual tone: advance, breakthrough, passage, and the quiet power of a way being opened
- Design character: pairs naturally with warm wood, linen, rattan, and brushed brass
Design Notes
- Vertical 3:4 composition — suits narrow walls, corridor focal points, elevator lobbies, and flanking pairs
- No horizon reference creates an immersive, timeless quality — the viewer enters the light field rather than observing a landscape
- Mid-value teal field works against white, grey, slate, warm neutrals, and deep accent walls
- The diagonal gold-light movement gives the composition energy and direction without restlessness
- Pairs as a warm-cool diptych with The Breaker 8, print — teal-gold dialogue with shared vertical lift
Where It Works
- Elevator lobby, hospitality corridor, or reception area — vertical format and luminous palette create a serene focal point
- Living room with warm neutrals, natural textures, and contemporary or BOHO styling
- Wellness suite, spa room, or hotel guest room
- Hallway or transitional space needing a calm vertical anchor with spiritual atmosphere
- Prayer room or reflective interior where the Micah 2:13 meaning of advance and breakthrough is welcome

Integrity Notes
The Breaker 9, print is an artist-directed detail-crop edition drawn from my original human-made acrylic on canvas painting The Breaker Remix (2017). The crop isolates the gold breaker-light and teal-aqua field passage from the larger composition. Light tonal adjustments and dust cleanup were applied for print fidelity. No compositing, AI generation, or added elements. Normal color variance across devices and materials should be expected.

Notes from the Studio
The Breaker family returns again and again to the same image: something moving through, something opening ahead. The Breaker 9 holds the gold-light passage of that image — the concentrated place where the breaker-light strikes through the water field. Micah 2:13 says the breaker goes up before them. That is enough.
Pairing Ideas
