Summary
Third Day, print is an open-edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist — a full reproduction of the 2016 original painting Third Day. Deep cobalt and ultramarine waters rise through teal and turquoise to meet warm yellow and gold, with a luminous white central channel ascending vertically. Painted in response to Genesis 1:9 — the moment the waters gathered and dry land appeared. A joyful, light-filled work suited to living rooms, prayer spaces, and any interior where warmth and emergence matter.
Artwork Statement
Genesis 1:9 — and God said, let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear. I painted Third Day as that moment of emergence: the deep gathering below, the light breaking above, and the vertical column between them that feels like breath held and then released. The gold flecks scattered through the centre carry the sense of something becoming — not yet named, but already present.
Variation & Edition Notes
This is the Open Edition Fine Art Print — a full reproduction of the original painting Third Day as completed. No crop, no color variant. The print file was prepared from a high-resolution capture of the completed painting. A digital artist's signature may appear on the print face; the painted original retains its physical signature.
Color & Mood
- Deep cobalt and ultramarine in the lower register, rising through teal and turquoise to warm yellow, gold, and luminous white
- A vertical white channel at the centre reads as light, breath, or emergence
- Gold flecks scattered through the central column — texture visible from the canvas tooth
- Joyful, warm, and expansive — one of the more light-filled works in the collection
Design Notes
- Landscape orientation (4:3) — the horizontal sweep of water meeting sky suits wide walls above sofas, beds, or consoles
- The warm yellow and gold upper field bridges easily with warm-toned interiors — timber, brass, cream, and ochre all connect
- The blue lower register anchors the composition without darkening the room
- Canvas texture visible throughout; the giclée on canvas medium complements the original particularly well
Where It Works
- Living rooms — the warm palette and expansive horizontal format anchor a sofa wall beautifully
- Dining rooms and kitchens — the yellow and gold bring energy and warmth to gathering spaces
- Prayer rooms and contemplative spaces — the Genesis 1:9 resonance suits devotional settings
- Bedrooms — the luminous upper field and settled lower blue create a restful but uplifting presence
- Hospitality and wellness spaces where warmth and emergence themes fit
Pairing Ideas
- Third Day 3, print — ultra-wide crop from the same original; the two work as a natural pair in the same collection or space
- Advent 7, print — square cool counterpoint; the contemplative blue connects while the formats contrast
- Light and Momentary, print — square companion with soft luminous atmosphere in the same blue-teal family

Print Options & Materials
- Archival paper — giclée on fine art paper; suits framing; the warm palette reads beautifully on paper
- Canvas — gallery-wrapped giclée; ready to hang; the canvas texture complements the original's surface quality closely
- Metal (ChromaLuxe) — high-gloss aluminum; the warm yellows and luminous white channel intensify on metal
- Acrylic facemount — print face-mounted behind clear acrylic; crisp clarity and contemporary edge
Bathroom Suitability
For humid bathrooms, metal or acrylic facemount are the strongest choices — both are moisture-resistant and wipe-clean. In a dry powder room or well-ventilated space, glazed archival paper works well at the smaller sizes. Canvas is not recommended for high-humidity bathrooms.

- 12 × 9 in — compact accent; suits shelves, desks, and smaller walls
- 24 × 18 in — strong single-piece presence above a console or in a reading nook
- 32 × 24 in — works well above a bed or sofa in a mid-sized room
- 40 × 30 in — statement scale; the full sweep of water, land, and sky reads powerfully at this size

Notes from the Studio
Genesis 1:9 — the moment the waters gathered and the land appeared. This painting has stayed with me since 2016; the emergence it describes feels relevant in every season. The original is available if you are interested in the painting itself.
