Vessels 2, print is a vertical open-edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist, prepared from the original 2018 painting Vessels and a later 2024 print state refined from that source. Cool blues, pale light, and simplified vessel forms give the work a quiet sense of formation, consecration, and contemplative stillness. It is a restrained symbolic print for rooms that welcome calm, clarity, and spiritual depth.
Artwork Statement
I first painted this piece in the studio as part of an art challenge: one day to create a monochromatic work, and another day to gift art to someone. Even in that quick beginning, the image held a sense of being formed, set apart, and quietly useful.
The vessel in Scripture is a recurring image of formation and consecration. Isaiah 64:8 speaks of the potter and the clay — we are the work of God's hand, being shaped for purpose. 2 Timothy 2:21 speaks of the vessel made holy and useful to the Master. That is the quiet theology behind this image: not grandeur, but readiness.
Years later I revisited the image for print, deepening the shading and refining hurried passages so the atmosphere could carry more clearly without losing the simplicity of the original work. I still see it as a piece about being formed, held, and quietly set apart for use.
Color & Mood
Palette: layered blues, white, and teal creating a calm, cooling, contemplative atmosphere. Mood: spare, quiet, and symbolic rather than decorative or busy. The pale standing form and vessel shapes keep the composition simple, vertical, and quietly alive.
Design Notes
The vertical 3:4 composition gives the piece lift, making it useful where height and calm presence matter. It pairs well with warm clay walls, pale grays, soft whites, light oak, natural stone, charcoal accents, and layered blue textiles. The simplified forms allow the print to sit naturally in contemporary, transitional, prayerful, and spa-like interiors.
Where It Works
Living rooms that need a quiet vertical focal point are a natural placement. Bedrooms, reading corners, and contemplative retreats also suit this print well. Entry halls, hallways, and home offices benefit from its calm vertical presence. Prayer spaces, sacred spaces, and rooms for reflection are strong placements, as are spa-like bathrooms and wellness interiors when ordered in metal or acrylic.

Pairing Ideas
Deluge, print — for a blue-on-blue pairing that brings flowing movement beside the grounded stillness of Vessels 2.
Angelic, print — for a quiet companion piece that extends the sense of vertical calm, guardianship, and light.
Advent 7, print — for a contemplative square counterpoint that keeps the palette cool and the room restful.
Vessels 2, print is offered as a made-to-order open edition fine art print on paper, canvas, metal, or acrylic. Select the material, finish, and mounting or framing option from the product options menu before ordering. Paper and canvas preserve a softer, painterly surface. Metal and acrylic give stronger clarity, sleek presentation, and better humidity resistance for bathrooms and wellness spaces.
Bathroom Suitability
Vessels 2, print is especially well suited to spa-like baths, powder rooms, and wellness interiors when ordered in metal or acrylic. Its cool palette, quiet symbolism, and simplified forms work well in moisture-prone settings. Framed paper is best reserved for drier adjoining spaces.

Integrity Notes
Edition type: open-edition fine art print prepared from the original 2018 painting Vessels and a later 2024 print state refined from that source.
Original artwork:Vessels, 2018, acrylic on paper, 9 × 12 in; gift of the artist, circa 2018.
Print state: the core composition, standing form, vessels, and symbolic atmosphere remain rooted in the original painting. The 2024 refinement deepened shading, clarified transitions, and resolved quickly laid brushwork for print release.
Not a crop, composite, remix, recolored variant, or background replacement — the refinement is tonal and atmospheric only.
Process: prepared from the original human-made painting; no AI was used.
This piece began under time pressure, but I never lost affection for its quiet simplicity. Returning to it later let me bring more depth, more stillness, and more resolution to the image without changing what first made it meaningful. I still see it as a work about being formed, held, and quietly set apart for use.
