Summary
Mercy 2 is a contemplative ChromaLuxe metal print by Anne Reid Artist, designed for listening rooms, studios, and spaces where visual depth and atmosphere matter as much as sound. A luminous teal current moves through deep cobalt blue — sweeping, restrained, and quietly alive.
Artwork Statement
I painted this work around the quality of flow — the way color can move through a field without forcing it. The deep blue holds the composition, and the teal current gives it life and direction without breaking the calm. There is restraint here, and within that restraint, a sense of something moving steadily toward where it is going.
On metal, the depth of the cobalt reads with particular intensity, and the teal highlight becomes luminous in a way that suits the cool, focused atmosphere of a dedicated listening space.
Color & Mood
- Deep cobalt-blue dominant field — dense, rich, and immersive
- Luminous teal current moving through the composition with quiet energy
- Aqua and green undertones giving the lower field warmth and ground
- Mood: flow, restraint, quiet movement, contemplative depth
Design Notes
- Narrow vertical format — strong architectural presence on tall walls
- Sweeping S-curve movement guides the eye through the full length of the composition
- No hard edges — all transitions blend, keeping the surface calm and continuous
- ChromaLuxe surface deepens the cobalt and intensifies the teal highlight
Where It Works
- Listening rooms — the narrow vertical format and cool depth suit tall walls where a single strong vertical can anchor the room without competing with the system.
- Home theaters — the sweeping movement and deep blue-teal palette work in low-light environments where the ChromaLuxe surface responds well to controlled or ambient lighting.
- Studies, studios, and media rooms — the restrained, flowing register suits spaces where focus and atmosphere are both part of the environment.
- Modern interiors with tall walls, dark finishes, or narrow architectural bays — the format is particularly strong where width is limited and height is available.
For dedicated listening rooms: position on the front wall between or behind the speakers, or centered on the back wall behind the listening position. Avoid side walls at ear height — these are the first reflection points where any hard surface can affect the soundstage.

Integrity Notes
Mercy 2 is a crop and color-enriched edition derived from the 2016 original painting. One flowing section of the original composition has been isolated, and the colors deepened so the blues and teals read with greater clarity and intensity in contemporary interiors. The essential movement, structure, and atmospheric character of the original are preserved.

Notes from the Studio
This is a strong choice for collectors who want a work that holds its depth quietly. The narrow vertical format is particularly suited to architectural spaces where width is limited and height is available — a stairwell, a tall bay, or a listening room wall where one focused vertical is stronger than a wider horizontal.
