Summary
A River Runs Through It 3 is a prophetic fine art print by Anne Reid Artist, reproduced from the original acrylic painting created as a commission. A tall central figure stands with arms reaching outward to those alongside, all moving together through a luminous field of gold, blue, water, and light. The composition speaks of faith becoming visible—land, inheritance, hospitality, family, and the Kingdom of God breaking into ordinary places of work and community. Available in elongated vertical sizes on paper, canvas, metal, and acrylic.
Artwork Statement
A River Runs Through It 3 was created as a commission for Catherine Serez, owner of Saugeen Springs R.V. Park in Hanover, Ontario. When I delivered the painting, Catherine told me that it contained the elements of prophetic words she had received over more than twenty years for the property. One of the earliest words described a place where healings, miracles, and salvations were taking place—and where a river ran through it.
That phrase was not incidental. Catherine had purchased Saugeen Springs R.V. Park in part because the previous owner’s signage already carried the tagline, “A River Runs Through It.” The words had marked the property before she took possession of it, and the painting seemed to echo that same promise back to her after more than two decades of faith, perseverance, and work.
The colors also carried personal meaning. Blue and yellow were the colors Catherine had used to paint the houseboats and Muskoka chairs at the park—to her, they spoke of summer. In the painting, those same colors became something more: an atmosphere of light, water, warmth, and invitation. A designer who saw the image later said it looked like people walking into heaven. That observation captured the heart of Catherine’s vision exactly. She wanted families to come to the park not only to rest and be refreshed, but to encounter God.
For me, this painting is about faith becoming visible—the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1, KJV). It is about land, inheritance, hospitality, family, refreshment, and the Kingdom of God breaking into ordinary places. The figures move forward together through light—drawn, accompanied, and held.
Variation & Edition Notes
The original painting, A River Runs Through It, is a 24×24 in square canvas. This print edition presents the composition in an elongated vertical format, concentrating on the central figurative group—the tall reaching figure and the figures alongside. The crop isolates the heart of the composition at the scale and proportions that best serve the image in print form.
Color & Mood
- Dominant field: luminous gold and amber yellow
- Figures: deep cobalt, navy, and cool blue throughout
- Upper sky: pale aqua and blue-white
- Ground: warm orange-gold with soft violet undertones
- Mood: guidance, accompaniment, faith becoming visible, warmth, forward movement, invitation
Design Notes
- Elongated vertical format (approximately 3:5 ratio)—suited to tall feature walls, stairwells, and vertical accent spaces
- Strong central figure with outstretched arms anchors the composition; the eye follows the chain of figures receding into the luminous field
- Warm gold field reads as energetic and inviting at distance; textural brushwork visible up close
- Blue figures provide strong contrast against the warm ground—the composition reads clearly at any scale
- The white mark above the central figure reads as light, cross, or horizon—open to the viewer
Where It Works
- Entryways, stairwells, and corridors—the elongated vertical format and forward-moving composition are particularly effective in tall narrow spaces
- Living rooms and lounge spaces where warm color and figural warmth anchor the room
- Prayer rooms, chapel interiors, and ministry spaces where themes of faith, accompaniment, and the Kingdom of God are directly relevant
- Hospitality environments—hotels, retreat centers, and guest spaces—where the image of welcome and forward movement resonates with the setting
- Offices and leadership environments where the image of the figure reaching outward to those alongside speaks to care, guidance, and community

Pairing Ideas
- A River Runs Through It 2, print — square companion in the same figurative river-crossing family; the two work together as an installation pair.
- Covered by Glory, print — warm radiance to counterbalance the blue figures; shares the theme of being held, accompanied, and covered.
- Deluge, print — water and open-heaven movement; shares the blue-and-gold vocabulary at a dramatically different scale.

Quality & Care
Fine art prints are produced using archival pigment inks on premium substrates. Paper and canvas prints should be kept out of direct sunlight and high-humidity environments; framing behind UV-protective glass extends longevity. Metal and acrylic prints require no framing and can be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth. All prints are inspected for color accuracy and finish quality before shipment.
