Summary
South Pacific 3, print is an open-edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist — a luminous vertical seascape with deep cobalt-blue water, dark volcanic island silhouettes, and a dramatic sky graduating from gold and amber at the horizon to blazing red-orange, crimson, and deep magenta-violet above. Atmospheric, warm, and deeply still.
Artwork Statement
I painted this in the studio during a time of prayer for a dear friend, teacher, and mentor who had been unable to be on her feet for several months. I began loosely, following the colors and the movement of the brush, and what emerged became a visual expression of prayer, faith, and hope.
For me, this painting carries the sense that the best days are not behind us. It speaks of renewed strength, rising again, and the goodness and faithfulness of God. Even with its island forms and open water, the real subject is not geography alone — it is peace, endurance, and the promise of fresh glory ahead.
Color & Mood
- Deep cobalt and ultramarine blue — water, depth, and calm
- Teal-aqua horizon line — luminous transition between water and sky
- Gold and amber at the horizon — warmth, hope, and new light
- Blazing red-orange and crimson sky — intensity, prayer, and encounter
- Deep magenta-violet and near-black upper field — the weight and mystery of what lies beyond
- Overall mood: atmospheric, peaceful, quietly powerful, expectant
Design Notes
- Vertical 3:4 composition — strong upward read; well suited to tall wall placements
- Three volcanic island silhouettes provide scale, stillness, and visual anchoring
- Horizontal water band grounds the lower third and creates a natural resting point for the eye
- Dramatic sky gradient draws attention upward — the sky is the emotional center of the composition
- Clean composition reads powerfully at all sizes
Where It Works

- Spa-inspired bathrooms and wellness rooms — especially in Metal or Acrylic for humidity resistance

Notes from the Studio
This painting came from a season of prayer for someone I love. The colors arrived before the meaning did — and then the meaning was clear. I hope something of that same sense of peace and renewed strength finds you wherever it hangs.
