Summary
Transfiguration 2, print is an open-edition fine art print by Anne Reid Artist — a square detail-crop edition drawn from the original 2019 painting Transfiguration. The figure group and the luminous encounter at the heart of the composition are brought into a centered, intimate 1:1 square frame: figures moving toward revelation, set within a field of crimson, rose, and gold. The square format makes this Transfiguration art print highly versatile for contemporary interiors that suit a bold, warm, square focal piece.
Artwork Statement
I painted Transfiguration in 2019 while watching the ONE THING 2018 livestream and the Catch the Fire Toronto 25th anniversary — praying, worshipping, listening, and waiting. It began as abstraction, but as I stayed with it, the scene opened.
This is the moment on the mountain. His face shone like the sun. A bright cloud covered them, and a voice said: This is my Son, whom I love — listen to him (Matthew 17:5, NIV). Light reveals what was always there. Presence becomes visible.
In recent years, renewed study around the possible identification of the Mount of Transfiguration with Mount Hermon — a site associated in ancient Jewish tradition with spiritual opposition and contested authority — has caused me to revisit this painting in a new light. If that identification holds, the moment recorded in the Gospels is not only a private unveiling witnessed by three disciples. It becomes a declaration: the promised Seed unveiled in glory, confronting every power that claimed dominion, and revealing the authority of the Kingdom of God.
The painting holds that tension — between glory and conflict, hiddenness and unveiling, mountain encounter and Kingdom declaration. What matters most is not the darkness surrounding the location. It is the radiance of Christ revealed there. The glory belongs to him. The authority belongs to him. The Father's command remains: listen to the Son.
Matthew 17:2, NIV: his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Luke 9:35, NIV: a voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him."
Variation & Edition Notes
Transfiguration 2, print is a detail-crop edition derived from the full vertical composition of Transfiguration (2019). The crop isolates the central figure group and the luminous encounter zone, reformatting the 3:4 vertical original into a 1:1 square for design versatility. The full vertical composition is available as Transfiguration, print.

Integrity Notes
Transfiguration 2, print is a detail-crop edition derived from the original 2019 painting Transfiguration (acrylic on canvas, 16×20 in). The crop isolates the central figure group from the full vertical composition, reformatting it as a 1:1 square. No color alterations have been introduced. The underlying hand-painted figures, luminous field, and color relationships remain faithful to the source. The full vertical composition is available as Transfiguration, print. The original painting remains available from the artist's studio. No AI generation was used.

Notes from the Studio
The square crop brings you closer to the figures — the people in the fire, the ones on the mountain, the ones who were there when the light arrived. I made this version because not every wall needs a vertical, and not every room needs the whole sky. Sometimes what you need is just the encounter.
