Wilderness 9, print centers a three-figure encounter within a field of violet dusk and blue robes. The scene reads as wayfinding—subtle light at right draws the eye forward, suggesting presence and guidance. Collection: Curated Fine Art. Available on archival paper, canvas, metal (ChromaLuxe), and acrylic; solid-wood box framing with optional mats (2″/3″/4″). Sizes: 9×12, 18×24, 24×32, 30×40, 36×48, 45×60; 48×64 (metal only). Produced by Bay Photo (USA) for color fidelity and longevity.
Artwork Statement
I painted Wilderness during a season of quiet crossings—transitions that require trust. This cropped edition focuses on that feeling: we walk, we listen, we keep moving toward light. For the making-of details, see the Artist Notes below.
Edition Notes
Lineage: Open Edition fine art print derived from my original Wilderness (acrylic on canvas, 20×16 in).
Crop & aspect: intentional portrait 3:4 crop isolates a three-figure grouping from the larger landscape to heighten intimacy and narrative clarity.
Color mastering: deeper violets/teals, softened skin glow; no compositional additions.
No AI/generative processes used; this print is a faithful crop and grade from the painted source.
Canvas texture intentionally preserved in the master to honor the original surface.
Reframing changes aspect (original 5:4 landscape → print 3:4 portrait) without altering story intent.
Color & Mood
Palette: violet dusk, ultramarine/teal robes, pale gold highlights.
Mood: contemplative, watchful, quietly hopeful.
Light behavior: right-edge glow acts as destination cue.
Design Notes
Strong verticals; central massing of figures with soft halo edges.
Right-margin luminosity balances deep left field; natural focal path.
Reads well at small to statement scales; calming at 30×40–36×48.
Where It Works
Bedrooms and reading corners (soothing cools).
Entry corridors and elevator lobbies (clear directional light).
Chapels/prayer rooms and counseling spaces (quiet presence).
Hospitality suites and boutique lounges (violet/teal palettes).
Pairing Ideas
Narrative rhyme: Friend of the Bridegroom, print — same portrait cadence; three figures moving toward light (hang left; let Wilderness 9 glow face inward).
Framed + matted external size grows by ~+4″ (2″ mat), +6″ (3″), or +8″ (4″) in both dimensions; visible image area decreases by the mat width.
Placement tip: artwork width ≈ 60–75% of the furniture width; center height ~57–60″ from floor.
Artist Notes (expanded)
This edition holds the pause inside a journey—three figures sharing direction more than words. I cooled the ground into violet dusk, then walked the robes toward ultramarine and teal so the right-edge glow could read as a quiet destination. I pared the landscape back to keep the conversation intimate; halo edges stay soft so the air can breathe.
For print clarity I protected the shadow base, lifted midtones along the path, and kept a few crisp seams where the eye should land. The portrait crop turns the walk vertical—an inner ascent as much as a forward step. In bedrooms, chapels, and corridors, it offers a steady cue: keep moving toward the light.
Giclée printed with archival inks on premium substrates; color-managed workflow.
Paper/Canvas: avoid prolonged direct sunlight; dust with a clean microfiber cloth.
Metal/Acrylic: wipe with a soft, non-ammonia cloth; avoid abrasives.
